Why Maine Homeowners Choose CD Sprayfoam

Because the person who quotes your job is the person who sprays it. An owner-operator business works differently, and you feel it on every job we do.

👷

The Owner Shows Up

The person who gives your free estimate is the one who comes back and does the work. No salesperson, no subcontractor you never met.

🎯

Name on Every Job

Our name is on each and every job we do. If something needs attention, it gets fixed fast — no calling an office to find out who's who.

🛏️

Safe, Modern Products

We only spray the most chemically advanced foams — no formaldehyde, no harmful gases, safe for your family once cured.

🌬️

Air + Moisture Barrier

Foam windproofs and seals wall, floor, and ceiling cavities against air movement — fiberglass and cellulose can't do that.

How a Spray Foam Job Works

From the first phone call to a broom-clean site, the process is short and personal.

1

Free Estimate

Call 207-223-6332 or fill out the form. The owner walks the job (or talks it through), measures the area, and prices it by the board foot — right over the phone or on-site.

2

Check the Surfaces

Before any foam lands, the surface has to be at least 40°F and under 18% moisture content. We check before every job and at the start of every day. Too cold? Temporary heaters solve it — winter installs are routine.

3

Spray Day

The foam expands 30 to 100 times its liquid volume to fill every void and crack traditional insulation always misses. Rooms are masked and protected; areas we don't touch stay untouched.

4

Trim & Clean Up

Excess foam gets shaved flush so the site is ready for the next phase of construction, and we leave it broom clean — it's stated in the contract.

About CD Sprayfoam

We're an owner/operator company, and that's not a slogan — it's the whole business model. The owner is the one who shows up for your free estimate, and the one who comes back and does the work. You don't get a trained voice reading a script, and you don't get a crew that's never seen your job until the truck rolls in.

What that means for you is a higher level of quality. Our name is on each and every job we do — we're not just spraying for a paycheck. Jobsite changes get accommodated on the spot, without a phone call to some office, and if there's a problem it gets quickly remedied. That's how we've always done it.

We spray modern, chemically advanced foams with no formaldehyde, and we leave every jobsite broom clean, ready for the next phase. Call us to talk about your building — you'll get a straight answer and a fair price.

What Does Spray Foam Insulation Cost in Maine?

Foam is sold by the board foot, which is a square foot of coverage one inch thick. Spraying three inches thick means 3 board feet per square foot; five inches thick means 5. Add up the square footage of the walls, ceilings, or other areas to be insulated, subtract doors and windows, multiply by the thickness, and you have your total board footage.

The price per board foot varies with the amount to be sprayed, the location, and the degree of difficulty — so you get a real quote, not an internet guess. Call 207-223-6332 for current pricing. Your initial investment runs higher than fiberglass; the advanced properties of the foam lower energy costs day after day to pay it back.

Statewide Spray Foam Service in Maine

We provide service statewide — the whole state of Maine is our service area, not one town. A location-based minimum charge keeps every quote honest about travel, so a job way up in Aroostook or way Down East gets priced the way it actually is. Tell us your town and we'll tell you exactly what it takes to get to you.

Spray Foam Insulation FAQs for Maine Homes

Will spray foam insulation make my house too tight?

A complete spray foam package changes how the house breathes, and with a full package it is advisable to install an air exchanger so you deliberately control fresh air instead of relying on leaks. Not every job needs one — it depends on how much of the envelope gets sealed, which is exactly the conversation to have before the foam goes in, not after.

What's the R-value of spray foam insulation?

Generally closed cell runs R-6 to R-7 per inch and open cell runs R-3.4 to R-3.9 per inch, varying slightly with the manufacturer. Closed cell also functions as an air and moisture barrier; open cell adds much better sound control. Which R-value lands in your walls depends on the assembly and the thickness — we spec that with you at the free estimate.

How is spray foam insulation priced?

Foam is sold by the board foot — a square foot of coverage one inch thick. If you spray three inches thick you have 3 board feet per square foot; five inches thick is 5, and so on. Price per board foot varies with the amount to be sprayed, location, and degree of difficulty. Call 207-223-6332 for current pricing and a real quote.

Can spray foam be installed in a Maine winter?

Yes. The surface we spray must be at least 40 degrees Fahrenheit and under 18% moisture content — we check both before every job and at the start of every day. If a surface is too cold, we bring temporary space heaters to bring it up to the required temperature. Winter installs are routine.

Is spray foam insulation safe for my family?

Spray foam insulation is not considered a hazardous material. We only spray the most chemically advanced spray foams available, research shows they do not produce harmful gases, and modern products do not contain or release formaldehyde. Once cured, the foam is inert. It is safe for you, your family, and the environment.

Does spray foam absorb water?

Closed cell is hydrophobic — it does not absorb water. Weight it down in a bucket of water for weeks and it floats back to the top dry. Open cell does absorb water briefly but dries quickly and keeps its insulating ability; it does not hold moisture, so it does not support bacteria or fungal growth.

Does spray foam need a thermal or fire barrier over it?

Spray foam will not sustain flame once the flame source is removed, but like fiberglass it would be consumed by fire, so occupied spaces need the thermal barrier required by code — typically sheetrock. Where sheetrock is not suitable, we paint the foam with a thermal barrier paint approved by the Maine State Fire Marshal.

Do you serve my area in Maine?

Yes — we provide statewide spray foam service across Maine. A location-based minimum charge applies depending on where you are, which keeps every quote honest about travel. Call with your town and we will tell you exactly what it takes to get to you.
